SNIM group

For several years, SNIM's policy has been to create subsidiary companies handling all its peripheral activities which were not directly connected with iron ore mining.
A diversification policy was initiated three years ago. Several exploration licenses have been obtained, concerning gold, diamond and associated minerals.

SAMMA S.A.

Lighterage and Handling Company in Mauritania  (52,5 %).

SOMASERT S.A.

Mauritanian Service and Tourism Company  (100 %).

• Founded in 1987



• 112 employees



• Turnover 2000 : 807.2 million MU



• Specializing in hotel trade, catering and handling, SOMASERT has also launched into touristic tours since December 1996 and it now features charter flights to Atar and guided tours in the Adrar province in 4-wheel drive vehicles or on camel back.

• ATTM specializes in civil engineering, road works and road construction.



• ATTM has quickly become the leading Mauritanian company in road building.



• 2001 main contracts : the Tagant road (165 km), urban roadworks in the town of Nouadhibou in collaboration with the Agrineq company, the construction works (roads and buildings) for the Republic Presidency premises, the construction of two dams in Hodh El Gharbi, Nouadhibou drinking water supply works, construction works on the Hassi Ehl Ahmed Bechna - Nioro du Sahel road .

• SAMIA works gypsum quarries to supply its Nouakchott plaster plant and has a yearly capacity of 100.000 tonnes.
